IMS “Racing Capital of the World” Speedway Dad Hat
When Carl G. Fisher, entrepreneur and cofounder of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, dreamed up a premier American racetrack in 1909, his rationale was simple: “Indianapolis is going to be the world’s greatest center of horseless carriage manufacturer, what could be more logical than building the world’s greatest racetrack right here?” In 1912, Speedway was founded as a factory town, and (like the hat says) is now considered the Racing Capital of the World.
