UVA Cavaliers Men’s Basketball 1984 Long Sleeve

UVA earned its first national championship in men’s basketball in 2019, but we wanted to tip our caps to a team that helped build their foundation as a basketball powerhouse. The 1983-84 Cavaliers were unranked through the regular season, and had a losing record in the ACC. At the 1984 NCAA Tournament, however, Virginia didn’t relent – after beating Iona in the first round, the team defeated ranked opponents Arkansas, Syracuse and Indiana. Virginia was just three points away from going to the national title game, losing in overtime to No. 5 Houston, 49-47. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
