West Virginia Mountaineer Mascot Vintage Heavyweight Tee
The official mascot of West Virginia University, the Mountaineer mascot began appearing at West Virginia sporting events as early as 1927. By the 1934-35 school year, WVU track runner Lawson Hill was selected and a process was developed to select a student on an annual basis to roam the sidelines while carrying a muzzle-loading rifle, wearing a coonskin cap, and rallying fans in support of the team on the field. This shirt celebrates that long tradition with an original illustration of West Virginia’s proud Mountaineer.
